手持ちの燭台をモチーフにデザインされたポータブルランプ、WICK。
2007年にデザイナー・建築家であるジョナサン・ユンカーとセス・グリズルによりワシントン州シアトルを拠点として設立されたブランドGraypants。現在は拠点をオランダのアムステルダムに移し、建築設備からパブリックアートワークまで活動を拡大し続け、家庭用照明、商業照明、家具、梱包デザイン、建築などを手掛けています。
ここ数年で急速にバリエーションが豊富になったコードレスポータブルランプ。中でもGraypantsのWICKランプは、キャンドルを手で持ち歩けるよう柄が付けられた燭台＝手燭の形をした、懐かしさと親しみを覚えるフォルムが魅力です。
ロウソクの芯を意味する「WICK」は、文字通り細いロウソクのようなとてもシンプルでクラシカルなフォルムですが、光源のすぐ下の部分を指でタッチするだけで電源のON / OFFと、3段階のタッチ調光が可能なとても機能的なポータブルランプです。
メインの照明を少し落として、ゆったりとした時間を過ごしたり、ベッドサイドランプとしてはもちろん、食卓に並べても絵になるおしゃれなデザインで、おもてなしの席や、カフェ・レストランなどでのご使用もおすすめです。
